Road trips are the best! Especially in the summer. As the weather heats up and families are getting out of the house a road trip is the safest way to get out in the open and enjoy travel, while keeping a cautious distance from others. Of course, I don’t need too much incentive to avoid airports anyway. Road trips are so freeing and much more full of adventure than other conventional forms of travel. Although road trips include lots of beautiful scenery and exciting stops along the way, Kids need some entertainment to keep them engaged and interested. Rather than have them disappear into an app on their phone I thought of this cute road trip activities booklet to keep them interested in the journey as well as the destination.
The fun activities included in this printable are perfect for keeping kids present and involved in the road trip you’re on. I tried it out with my daughter and she loved it. No Blu-ray or video games are needed! My printable includes five different games that require a sharp eye and a little bit of creativity! The games include a word search, a scavenger hunt, a coloring game, a car counting game, and even a guessing game that involves drawing and using imagination. Each activity offers a different type of focus, from tracking the colors of the cars you see to coloring in the states of all the license plates you spot while on the road.
There is even a scavenger hunt your kids can play from their own back seat, just by looking out the window. If they get tired of playing these games, there is a road trip-themed word search and a drawing challenge to keep them having fun.
Take This With You on Every Road Trip
The fun thing about these printable road trip activities is that you can do most of them over and over with different results. It’s a great way to stay occupied and it’s even more fun if two or more participants at once. You can make it more of a competitive game than just a neat way to pass time during a long drive.
