Hi there! I’m Kim, a Black millennial mom in my late 30s, living the suburban dream with my wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters—my rainbow babies. After three decades of bustling city life in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, we moved to the suburbs for more greenery, better schools, and, most importantly, accessible parking (yes, you heard that right!). Anyone familiar with NYC knows the struggle of finding a decent parking spot. Now, being able to back into my driveway after a long day is a simple joy I cherish, especially when I receive fantastic cars to review.

Additionally, I pursue my passion for makeup artistry through freelance bridal services. As a valued contributor to A Girl’s Guide to Cars, I share invaluable insights and vehicular vantage points through the discerning lens of a millennial mom. My latest venture, What Drives Kim, also embarks on an automotive odyssey, offering an insider’s perspective on car-related things. Juggling these responsibilities can be demanding, but it’s a challenge I embrace wholeheartedly.

Infertility struggles shaped my narrative, highlighting the glaring lack of representation of Black women’s experiences in this realm. Thus, I carved out a niche to amplify voices like mine and foster a community of support and empathy.
