It’s Fall. I’m so excited. I love this time of year and I love new challenges, especially reading challenges. That’s why I figured I autumn make one for you guys! Calling all bookworms! This is going to be fun. There is nothing better on a chilly day– especially a damp one if you live in those rainy regions– than to curl up with a nice book, or twenty. Now, this list is not only for serious bookworms. If you have been wanting to fit more reading into your schedule, or just want to make it a regular habit, this fall reading challenge is definitely for you!
My Guide to Fall Reading
Fall is the most conducive season for reading in my opinion. In the summer, generally, you are outside too often to get any serious reading done. The holidays are much too busy. The fall is that sweet spot where it’s much more preferable to remain indoors. While you’re there, you have a choice. You can either watch whatever streaming content you’ve been watching all year, or you can pull a book off the shelf and indulge in something that’s much better at engaging your mind.
Fall reading doesn’t have to be about fall specifically. It’s not like you need to buy a stack of books about pumpkin patches (although, there are more than you’d think). There are some fall-themed books on my fall reading challenge, but not all of them are. There is something neat about the moodiness of fall, that literature can play with. So, I like the idea of reading a book that takes place in the fall or even tying the colors of a book to the season. Those are just two suggestions, but there are a lot of other great ideas, including beginning a series by starting the very first book.
The reason I like that one, in particular, is that if you don’t read often, you can use this opportune moment as a hook to keep you reading through next year. There are plenty more ideas and I want you to try your best to make it through each one of these. Challenge issued. Do you accept it? Better yet, make it a family affair.
