These days, it seems like everyone is at home making Dalgona Whipped Coffee. As a coffee lover, I’ve bitten the Dalgona coffee bullet, too. My daughter came across the recipe and begged me to try it, but I’ve also seen it as well and wondered if the beautifully whipped coffee is as good as everyone claims. So I tried making it. Besides, while we are coupled up in the house due to the stay-home orders, the best thing to do is keep busy and try new things.
If you follow me on Instagram you would’ve seen my first attempt at making Dalgona Coffee. Check out my stories if you’ve missed it. That time I used regular almond milk, however, I’ve found that any milk base or milk-alternative (vegan-friendly). And if you’re feeling the stress of being at home juggling work, kids, and everything else, you may want to add some alcohol. That’s what I did. I added Almond Baileys as the base of my Dalgona coffee, and now I’m sharing this vegan-friendly Dalgona coffee recipe with you.
Vegan Iced Almond Bailey’s Dalgona Coffee Recipe
Makes 2 Servings
4 tbsp of instant coffee
4 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp hot water
Milk of choice (we used almond milk)
- Whisk together instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until peaks are formed. (You may use a hand whisk, a hand mixer or a stand mixer. It is your choice. I’ve even used the frother on my Ninja Coffee Bar.)
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and top with the desired amount of Almond Bailey’s. If you just want a touch of flavor, just add a teaspoon, but if you’re looking for a good time you might want to go with an ounce.
- Top the rest of your cup with milk of choice.
- Put one to three spoonfuls of the whipped coffee mixture on top and serve!
