There are three times in a woman’s life when she gets particular about not only what she puts into her body, but also what she puts on it. I’m talking about when a woman is either trying to conceive, pregnant or breastfeeding. Personally, these were the times when I went crazy with everything, especially my skincare because I did not want “bad” ingredients to potentially harm my chances of getting pregnant, cause birth defects, or get into my breastmilk, which can then harm my baby. Luckily, there are skincare brands, like Belli Beauty that have skincare products specially formulated for pregnant moms, which also means it is great for those trying to conceive and breastfeeding, too!
I had the opportunity to test out three of Belli Beauty’s skincare products:
- Fresh Start Pre-treatment Scrub ($23.99/ 6.5 Fl oz.)
- Anti-Blemish Facial Wash ($16.99/ 3.0 Fl oz.)
- Acne Control Spot Treatment ($21.99/ 0.5 Fl oz)
- Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator ($31.99 / 1.5 Fl oz)
Since Belli Beauty skincare products are free of all of the harmful chemicals that are known to cause birth defects, miscarriage, and other health issues, I felt confident in adding these products to my skincare routine.
I started my skincare regimen with the Fresh Start Pre-treatment Scrub, which gently sloughs away any dead skin, prepping your skin to fully absorb the goodness of what comes next, Anti-Blemish Facial Wash.
As if the Pre-treatment Scrub wasn’t enough to make my skin feel smooth and clean, I followed up with the Belli Beauty Anti-Blemish Facial Wash, which can also be used as a mask. My skin felt even cleaner, but not in the stripped, squeaky clean way. It felt smooth, hydrated and even looked brighter. Because I was suffering horrible breakouts on my chin area, after following up with my favorite toner, I used the Acne Control Spot Treatment.
The Belli Beauty Acne Control Spot Treatment was created because pregnancy, stress from trying to conceive, or even post-partum hormones can cause breakouts. This spot treatment, unlike other acne treatments, does not contain common, but harmful acne fighting ingredients like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. It does, however, contain colloidal sulfur, tea tree oil and chamomile, which help to naturally dry-up any blemishes and prevent any new breakouts.
At first, the Acne Control Spot Treatment worked well in clearing up whatever blemishes I had. My coworker even complimented me on how good my skin was beginning to look. After a few weeks of use I noticed that I began to get painful breakouts, so I discontinued use, of this product and continued using the Pre-Treatment Scrub, Facial Wash, and Facial Hydrator, which have worked wonders.
The Healthy Glow Facial Moisturizer is a light moisturizer packed with Vitamin C to help brighten the skin and even out skin tone. I like that it isn’t oily, and a little definitely goes a long way. The thin texture and the way it absorbs into the skin, make it the perfect moisturizer for the warmer months.
I like that the Belli Beauty Fresh Start Pre-treatment Scrub, Anti-Blemish Facial Wash, and Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator are color-free and fragrance-free. However, they have a light citrusy and minty scent from the essential oils. I also love that they are rich in antioxidants like green tea. Oh, and the scrub can work double duty; use it for both your body and your face. Smooth skin all over!
