New York Hilton Midtown and the kid’s classic Thomas & Friends partnered for the first time to introduce an over-the-top toy-filled suite for traveling families this summer.

On Monday, August 1st, 2016, I played the auntie mommy role and treated my 5-year-old niece, Chloe, and my 2-year-old son, Cayden on a quick, fun escape that they will surely remember: a preview of the New York Hilton Midtown Thomas & Friends Suite.

Cayden, Chloe and I were greeted by Sir Topham Hatt in the newly renovated Herb N’ Kitchen. Children were presented with a table full of delicious cookies and cupcakes to decorate and eat as well as homemade chicken nuggets and pigs in a blanket for snacking. Kids were also treated to their very own mocktail (adults had their version as well.) Cayden and Chloe had a table full of Thomas & Friends coloring books, stickers, and crayons to keep them occupied as we waited our turn for a tour of the limited edition room. All of this excitement as The Great Race movie played in the background for the kiddies to enjoy!

Midway through their play session, we were given a demo of the new Sky High Bridge Jump toy which retails for $100.

Thomas & Friends: Sky High Jump
Thomas & Friends: Sky High Jump

“This Thomas & Friends™ train set breaks new ground by taking Thomas off the tracks and sending him soaring through the air, delivering speed, excitement, and motorized action like only TrackMaster™ train sets can! After a tall, spiral ascent with Harold the helicopter, Thomas speeds down a huge ramp and the velocity launches him into the air! Thomas soars for over two feet through the air before landing safely on the other side and continuing his journey…”

After this demo, it was hard to keep my 2 year old away as he wanted to play with it on his own. During the event, we were told not to worry that kids would have an opportunity to play with a ton of toys and take one home once we went upstairs to view the room. Unfortunately, the latter was not fulfilled which caused a very excited 2 year old to become disappointed and very upset.Room Playing Thomas

When it was our turn to visit the room, our hosts wanted the children to enter the room first so that they could get an honest reaction to this new addition to the Hilton Midtown. Both Cayden and Chloe held hands and immediately gravitated towards the many Thomas & Friends toys laid about the hotel room. The sheets and pillows were adorned with Thomas, there were mini Thomas robes. Even the bathroom had a Thomas & friends shower curtain, cups, toothbrush, and rug pretty much a Thomas & Friends fanatic dream room!

That looks great! My kids are too old to get into this, but I know plenty of parents with kids who are just the right age. What a neat hotel add on idea!

  • J King

I love how kid friendly this is! I bet they had a ball!

  • Wow I grew up with Thomas the Train and when I got my first job Thomas was a huge brand there because I worked at an amusement park rainroad gift shop! What a unique concept…parents with little boys should definitely stay here!

  • OMG this is so freaking cute. My daughter would go crazy over something like this. Great job Auntie/Mommy looks like the kids had fun.

  • Kirstin

What a cute idea! This is going to be a popular suite among the ‘Thomas’ fans.

  • I love the idea of having a themed room. This a great deal for a family getaway.

  • Whoa, that sounds like such a super fun thing to do with these kiddos of mine. I’m going to have to start being more in tuned with our local activities.

  • How cute! My Gbaby would absolutely love this. She’s going through a real choo choo train stage.

  • nappynaturalgirl

I absolutely love the themed room. It looks like a lot of fun. My son would have loved this when he was younger. Plus, I love the Hilton.

  • This is the cutest idea! I will have to share this with my mommy friends! My nephews love Thomas and Friends!

  • What a fun event and my son (when he was younger) would have loved the hotel.

  • Melissa Velazquez

Not cool that Cayden didn’t get his toy! The room sounds really cool. My godson loves Thomas so I’m sure he would enjoy it.

    • It definitely wasn’t cool. Now whenever he sees a Thomas toy, he wants it. Making mommy life much more difficult lol.
