Have you heard of Dutch Wonderland? If not, I’m going to tell you all about it since my family and I recently came from there. We enjoyed a full day of Happy Hauntings which included all the things families with kids 12 and under need to have Halloween fun.

Dutch Wonderland is a family-friendly amusement park located in Lancaster, PA, about a 3-hour drive from New York City. It has over 35 rides and attractions for families to enjoy. During Happy Hauntings, the rides and attractions are spooktacular!

We started off with a Sky Ride to the other side of the park. This was great because it gave us aerial views of Dutch Wonderland, allowing us to pinpoint and the plan the rides we were going to take on during our visit.

Our first ride was the Joust Family Coaster, a mini steel rollercoaster great for the little ones 36″ and up. After riding Joust, the thrill-seekers in our group spotted the Kingdom Coaster. Let me tell you, looks can be deceiving. This rollercoaster has fun twists, turns, and drops that had us screaming. It definitely was not what we expected, but we enjoyed it. So much so that we went back on it a second time.

Dutch Wonderland Happy Hauntings isn’t just about the rides, there are other fun things to do too. We had so much fun making our own s’mores at the s’mores station. An s’mores kit family pack is $10.

Another fun activity was being able to trick or treat on the Prehistoric trail. We saw over 20 lifelike dinosaurs dressed up as characters from our kids’ favorite storybooks. We spotted Waldo along with Winnie the Pooh and Friends. I’d have to say this part was the kids’ and my husband’s favorite part of Dutch Wonderland Happy Hauntings.
