What do you do when you have a long weekend and free time? If you are anything like us, you will use that opportunity to get on the road for a family road trip. Family road trips are fun but are even better when everyone is comfortable and have what they need to endure the drive before they get to their destination. For our last family road trip, our family used the services of MAVEN car sharing, the GM car-sharing service.

Having had a GM vehicle in the past, we knew that GM has reliable and safe cars perfect for families like ours with small kids. Their lineup of vehicles includes Chevrolet, GMC, and the luxury Cadillac line. All vehicles from each of these car brands are available – from standard compact cars to luxury SUVs.

Maven Car Sharing Cadillac Escalade

Since we were heading on a road trip with my best friend, her husband and three small children we decided to get the Cadillac Escalade. This three-row luxury SUV has all of the amenities necessary to make a family road trip comfortable and fun. These amenities include leather heated seats, heated steering wheel, captain seating, Wi-Fi, DVD player, television, Sirius XM radio and more. MAVEN car sharing vehicles also come with a gas card and e-z pass for use on long-distance road trips.

Having always wanted a car with T.V.s, my daughter was beyond ecstatic to discover the drop-down television in the MAVEN vehicle we had for our weekend road trip. She enjoyed being able to watch DVDs while we were driving, and of course, we enjoyed the peace of not having to be asked “Are we there yet?” because she was being entertained by what she was watching.

MAVEN Car Sharing Cadillac Escalade Entertainment System

In addition to an awesome entertainment system, the Cadillac Escalade from MAVEN car sharing was also equipped with 4G LTE WiFi™ As a blogger, being able to stay connected while on the road is important. During our trip, I was able to edit blog posts I’ve had in the queue, and work on new stories. Oh, and stay on top of the stream of emails coming into my inbox.

MAVEN Car Sharing Customer Service

Aside from the range of vehicles offered by MAVEN car sharing, the customer service is impeccable. The Cadillac Escalade was not my initial choice of vehicle; I had chosen a Chevrolet Tahoe, which is, for the most part, the same vehicle. MAVEN customer service contacted me a few hours before my reservation to notify me that the vehicle I chose would not be available because it was not in good shape to be loaned out; however, they would work with me to get me into a vehicle of the same size on the same night. The customer service representative went above and beyond to ensure this happened, and I was able to get into a better SUV, the Cadillac Escalade.

Another instance when MAVEN customer service came through was when my husband somehow locked the key in the car and we were not able to open it using the Bluetooth for whatever reason. Customer service was able to remotely unlock the vehicle for us. We had no issues for the rest of our trip.

Would I Recommend MAVEN Car Sharing?

MAVEN car sharing is easy to use, has a great selection of vehicles in a variety of sizes and budget. Maven is currently available in 17 cities across the U.S. and is growing each month.
