With all of this talk about our couples’ getaway to Montréal, you are probably wondering where we stayed. When we were not enjoying the sights of Montréal and the Montréal Jazz Festival, we retreated to our Junior Suite at the Hotel 10 Montréal.

Hotel 10 Montréal calls the history-rich Godin Building home. It has been renovated into a modern-style four-star hotel located in Downtown Montréal. Since we were visiting Montréal specifically for the Jazz Festival, the hotel could not have been in a better location. It is situated on Sherbrook Street just a few minutes’ walk from the perimeter of all of the festival activities including outdoor stages and food vendors.

The Junior Suite at Hotel 10 Montréal

Our Junior Suite at Hotel 10 Montréal was located on the third floor right next to Suite 2116, a tribute suite dedicated to the legacy of musician André “Dédé” Fortin.

After we were able to check into our Junior Suite, I did my sweep of the spacious 550 square foot room to ensure that it was clean. It featured a large bathroom with a deep soaker tub and separate walk-in shower. The toilet had its own little, but not so much private space within the bathroom. Not so private because it was situated next to the shower in a glass enclosure. We are married, right? So it was not a deal breaker.

After a long day of exploring we could not wait to shower using H2O+ bath and body products, and then retire to the comfy king-sized bed.

Sometimes we even fell asleep watching television on the 40” LCD TV, which is something we do not do at home because we do not have a television in our bedroom. Every night there, we woke up well-rested and ready to take on the day, after we had breakfast of course!

The Restaurant at Hotel 10 Montréal

Although the restaurant is not officially a part of the hotel, vouchers are provided to guests (for an additional fee) for buffet-style breakfasts. The breakfast includes hot items like French toast, quiche, bacon, and more, as well as pastries and fruits. Drinks like coffee, tea, and juice are available. Honestly, the food was okay. Our last day there, I noticed some moldy raspberries. But, there are so many dining options in the neighborhood so I would suggest eating outside of the hotel.

There is a nightclub right around the corner from the hotel that gets pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Depending on where your room is located, the noise from the club may bother you. We are native New Yorkers, so the noise did not bother us much. Plus, being sleep deprived helped us to easily knock out after coming in late from a day exploring Montréal and attending the Jazz Festival.

The Staff at Hotel 10 Montréal

My husband was able to book this hotel last-minute the morning after we arrived in Montréal. That is another story in itself that maybe he will tell.  But, we got lucky! The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They answered any questions we had and were helpful in instructing us on how to get around and gave us insight on where to dine locally.

Would we Recommend Hotel 10 Montréal?

Upon checking out of the hotel on our last day in Montréal, my husband inquired about staying at Hotel 10 next year for the 2018 Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. If that does not speak to how much we liked Hotel 10, then I am not sure what else would convince you. It is conveniently located to one of the busiest strips, St Laurent Blvd, that is filled with popular bars and restaurants. The hotel is in walking distance to places like the Place des Arts and to Old Montréal, and more. It has a fitness center and business center. Lastly, it is affordable. We paid under $500 for our stay, which took place during a holiday and busy weekend.

The next time you visit Montréal whether it is for the jazz festival or just to take a quick romantic getaway with your honey, consider staying at Hotel 10. If not for the rooms and service, stay for the location. You will not be disappointed. As always, check TripAdvisor for reviews.
