About Kim, owner of Beauty and the Bump NYC
First, I’d like to thank you for stopping by my blog.
My name is Kim, a 30 something, married, first-time mom to a beautiful 7-year-old girl. Two things you will see from my posts on social media or on this blog is that 1. I love my family and being able to do fun things with them, and 2. I love to travel, whether it is getting away for one-on-one time with my husband or going on a family vacation.
I work full-time in the managed care industry and work as a freelance bridal makeup artist. I must say, juggling all of those tasks is hard work but, I would never change it for anything in this world!
Why Did I Start Beautyandthebumpnyc.com?
For as long as I can remember, writing has been a passion of mine. In 2008, I entered the blogging world to chronicle my journey and experience as a Bridal Makeup Artist in New York City. Plus, during that time there were not many beauty bloggers of color. There, I’ve created YouTube tutorial videos, sharing my passion for all things beauty, especially makeup, and skincare, all while helping myself and others feel beautiful inside and out. And then, I met my husband.
On our journey to start our family, we experienced difficulties including miscarriages. Since it was hard dealing with everything, from losses to doctor’s appointments, I decided to create a separate space to log my thoughts during my process of becoming a mom. During that time noticed there were not many blogs by women who looked like me where women spoke of their struggles becoming pregnant. My hope was for Beauty and the Bump NYC to fill that void, and it did.
Beauty and the Bump NYC Now
Since breaking into the mommy blogging scene, Beauty and the Bump NYC has grown. Through our experience with infertility and now secondary infertility, my husband and I have found solace in traveling.
My blog is the place where millennial couples and families come to learn about my life as a wife and mom, while we travel and explore the world as a couple or together as a family with a touch on our journey to trying to conceive baby #2.
Our readers look forward to our beauty tips for travel, national and international travel experiences for couples and families, hotel reviews, product reviews, car reviews, restaurant reviews, and general family and lifestyle stories that capture those special moments in our everyday lives.
Being a full-time working mom and wife may not always be pretty, but, I do enjoy it. As you can see from my social accounts, our family has fun, and lots of it.
My posts and reviews will always be 100% honest, without any sugar coating. There’s no point in misleading anyone. Sit back, read, enjoy and share!
