It has been a while since I’ve owned a stroller. A lot has changed in the 9 years since my last purchasing one. Strollers are almost like cars with shock-absorbing suspensions, multiple “driving” modes or positions, and come in fancy styles and colors. The Maxi-Cosi Lila Modular Stroller System is one of the strollers that caught my eye and is just what I needed for our new baby.
The Maxi- Cosi Lila stroller is a high-end stroller with luxe features to match like the ShapeofYou memory foam inlay, leather-like handles, and more.
What I Love About the Maxi-Cosi Lila Modular Stroller System
360 MaxShade – Before this pandemic, I was a complete germaphobe. I am horrified at how freely people will come up to touch babies and invade their space. Before, to prevent that I would babywear, but this time around I can give my back a break because the 360 MaxShade (UPF 50+ protection) provides shade from the sun and privacy for the baby. The shade keeps people from getting too close to her, thus preventing their nasty germs from getting on her. I like that I don’t have to spend extra money on a sunshade or netting.
Newborn Inlay – The ShapeOfYou newborn ergonomic memory foam inlay is plush and comfortable. I love how it almost hugs my baby when she’s lying in there during our walks. I could tell she’s comfortable in it because she doesn’t fuss. Plus, the movement from the stroller maneuvering over uneven sidewalks doesn’t wake or startle her. The insert is pediatrician-developed and approved, and can be used up to 4 months.
Maneuverability – My daughters and I have taken walks around my neighborhood which is filled with tree-lined streets. Some sidewalks are a bit uneven due to the tree roots lifting. In a previous stroller, which was used with my now 9-year-old, our walks and her rides in the stroller were bumpy and difficult. These days, my walks with the newborn in the Maxi-Cosi Lila, the large wheels with shock-absorbing suspensions maneuver easily over the uneven sidewalks not disturbing any naps she takes.

Telescopic handles – My husband is about 7” taller than me, so having a stroller with telescopic handles that makes it comfortable to push the stroller for both our heights is important. The Lila stroller allows us to switch the person pushing the stroller easily and allows us to comfortably push the stroller without hurting our backs.
One-hand folding capability – The Lila stroller folds with ease! To get the stroller to fold, all you have to do is click a button located on the handlebar while simultaneously pressing down on the handle. You don’t need to have the strength of Wonder Woman to do it. The only caveat is, the stroller bassinet has to be facing forward.
It Grows with Your Child– With its 5-point harness, the Maxi-Cosi Lila Stroller will be suitable for our growing baby up to 50 lbs.
Accessories – The Maxi-Cosi Lila stroller comes with a lot of nice accessories, such as a bumper bar, a child snack tray, a parent cup holder, an accessory pouch, and a rain shield. The under-seat storage basket can be removed and turned into a tote bag.
What I Would Change About the Maxi-Cosi Lila Modular Stroller System
Removable Tote Basket – Currently, the tote basket sits on a panel with nothing securing it in place. I would prefer it if there was a way to snap in the basket so that it remains stationary until I’m ready to use it.
Collapsing/ Folding the Lila Modular Stroller System – Even though the stroller easily folds with a quick push of a button and pressure on the handle, I wish that I didn’t have to first switch around the bassinet before closing.
Who is the stroller for?
The Maxi-Cosi Lila Modular Stroller System can be used from birth through age 3.5 (max weight 50 lbs.). It is compatible with the Mico Infant Car Seat. In addition to that, with the use of the Lila Duo Seat Kit the Lila stroller has the capability to add an additional seat for growing families with children within the same age group.
How Much Does the Maxi-Cosi Lila Cost?
The stroller retails for up to $799. I’ve seen it priced lower, at about $599. Although it is priced on the lower end when compared to other luxury strollers, I can understand that it is still pricey. However, when you think about all you’re getting with the stroller, the cost of the Lila is worth it.
Maxi-Cosi backs the stroller with a two-year warranty. It can be used if you plan on growing your family and is built with materials made for it to last. Even if you aren’t planning on expanding your family, the Maxi-Cosi Lila is packed with safety features that provide comfort for both baby and parents.
If you are looking for a stroller that has a luxurious feel and has all the bells and whistles. A stroller that not only grows with your baby but grows with your family as well, then the Maxi-Cosi Lila Modular Stroller System is for you. It is available in four colors: nomad sand, nomad black, nomad grey, and frequency black.
