Traveling and creating new memories as both a family and a couple are important to Beauty and the Bump, which is why we were in attendance at the 6th annual #MomtrendsTravel Trends event held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Ivivva Store Union Square.
Before we get into the goings on of the #MomtrendsTravel Trends event, we want to let you know about the event space, Ivivva. Ivivva is an athletic apparel line made especially for girls by lulemon athletica. It was the perfect venue for this type of event as the store doubles as an event space that prides itself on hosting a variety of activities that allows girls to try new activities, make new connections and have fun. All of which is what those in attendance at the Momtrends Travel Trends event did.
The #MomtrendsTravel event was full of entertainment. We were able to design cookies at the Eleni’s cookie station, create our own chocolate-dipped snacks using the Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction chocolate fountain, and as we visited the various brand stations, we collected passport stamps. The latter was really cute. It gave us an idea for a travel-themed party.
As we listened to and watched demonstrations from brands like the number one online luggage shop, e-bags, we sipped on Noble Vines wine, and the pregnant mommies in attendance sipped on Essentia Water.
We were excited to see Canyon Ranch, the ultimate luxury spa in attendance. This place is on my bucket list of places to visit. It doesn’t matter if it is the Massachusetts, Arizona location or their Kaplankaya, Turkey location that’s slated to open July of 2016 – we have to go. As moms, as parents, we need to treat ourselves to this experience. For now, we have to settle for treating ourselves at home by using the luxury wellness spa brand’s signature body/skincare products like the soothing moisturizer enriched with dilo oil.
Seeing Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction in attendance brought back so many childhood memories of when we visited Hershey Park nearly every summer as children. It was nice seeing them, and speaking with the rep about the new Chocolate Tour Ride. I’m sure our daughter would love to visit. Hopefully, this summer we’ll get around to making a visit up to Hershey, PA.
Whether we are outdoors for the summer or on vacation in a tropical location, we always carry insect repellent. Mosquitos are always a problem. I was happy to meet and learn about the new-to-us DEET-free repellent brand, Guardian. The brand boasts that it’s Guardian Backyard repellent offers 4-hours of protection, while the Guardian Wilderness line offers up to 8-hours of repellency.
I like that the #MomtrendsTravel event was kid-friendly. Onsite nanny service, courtesy of The Nanny League, was available for moms who brought their children. I wish I had brought my daughter she would have enjoyed the activities the nannies did with the children, and also the GoPicnic snack packs.
How about this? Our first time attending a Momtrends event, and guess who won something? Yup, you guessed it. Remember the passport game I told you about? Well, that was actually a raffle. We won an Ivivva backpack that came with a water bottle, hair ties, Transition Travel Kit, and Village Chill Scarf.
Attending #MomtrendsTravel offered us the ability to learn about the latest in travel from gear to luggage to travel destinations to travel fashion to ways to keep ourselves safe while outdoors.
With all of this knowledge learned, it’s now time for us to start planning for our next getaway!
