Embarking on a solo journey, or as I like to call it, a momcation, had always seemed like a distant dream, until fate intervened with an invitation to a conference in San Antonio, Texas. It was the perfect opportunity to break free from my comfort zone and explore the vibrant cityscape along the famed Riverwalk. Nestled within this bustling urban oasis was Hotel Contessa – Suites on Riverwalk, a luxurious haven awaiting my arrival.
The Room
Hotel Contessa offers two types of suites: king and two double beds. For this solo trip, I had a King Suite. It was spacious! When you first enter the room, there’s a living area with full-sized sofa beds and a large-screen television.
There’s also a space to have a sit-down meal. The mini fridge is hidden in cabinets. For people like me who are traveling strictly for work, you would appreciate the granite top desk and work area in the living room. Yes, the entire hotel has Wi-Fi. As a full-time working, blogging mama, I know how important it is to have Wi-Fi while away. If you don’t like working in your room, the business center is available 24 hours a day and offers complimentary printing service.
From the living room, there is a short corridor with the closet and bathroom to the right and the bedroom to the left. I wish my room had views of the Riverwalk. However, I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Downtown San Antonio. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and I had a king-sized bed all to myself. I could finally get some much-needed rest.
Hotel Contessa Amenities
Proximity to the Riverwalk isn’t all that the hotel offers. Onsite, there is a restaurant, Las Ramblas, that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also the Cork Bar, where guests can enjoy specialty cocktails, wine, and beer.
Hotel Contessa – Suites on Riverwalk is in an Excellent Location
Situated right on San Antonio’s famed Riverwalk, Hotel Contessa is in the perfect location. Whether traveling solo like me or visiting with family, you will love being able to access the Riverwalk from the hotel, where you can ride the Riverwalk Water Trolley or dine at the riverside restaurants. The hotel was also within walking distance to shopping and The Alamo Mission.
During my two-night stay at Hotel Contessa, I walked to The Alamo, but it was closed by the time I reached it. Then, I hopped on a City Sightseeing Tour. As you know, City Sightseeing Tours are my favorite way to see a city for the first time. You get history lessons, a break from walking, and a chance to see many of San Antonio’s landmarks.
Reflecting on Moments of Tranquility and Exploration
As I bid farewell to the majestic skyline of San Antonio, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the moments of tranquility and exploration that defined my stay at Hotel Contessa. From the comfort of my spacious suite to the allure of the Riverwalk’s meandering pathways, every experience left an indelible mark on my soul. Whether solo or accompanied by loved ones, Hotel Contessa beckons with open arms, promising an unforgettable retreat amidst the heart and soul of San Antonio. And as I ponder future adventures, I can’t help but wonder – what’s your favorite memory of San Antonio? Until we meet again, may your travels be filled with laughter, discovery, and cherished moments that linger in the heart.
