With the release of Season Three of Netflix’s popular series, Emily in Paris, everyone is wondering if this European city of love will provide them with a similar glamour lifestyle to that of the American marketing executive Emily. According to the hospitality department at BestValueSchools.org, Americans searching for “jobs in Paris” increased by 566% after the premiere of season 3 of Emily in Paris. This also means searches for affordable flights to Paris increased as well. Starting March 26, 2023, Norse Atlantic Airways makes flying to Paris affordable with flights from just $159 one-way from New York’s JFK airport to the French capital.
Bård Nordhagen, Commercial Director, Norse Atlantic Airways, says: “We are thrilled to offer an affordable travel option for our American travelers who want to experience French glamour first-hand this spring.”
Paris is the Perfect Getaway
Paris is notoriously known as the city for love and romance. It’s usually the place couples get away for a romantic getaway and even proposals. However, as a family who has experienced Paris, we know that it has so much more to offer. The popular French city is just a little over a seven-hour flight from New York (JFK). It has an eclectic culture, adventure, amazing cuisine, the very best hotels, and unrivaled history and art that will educate and entertain travelers of all ages.
If you’ve been considering a trip to Paris, France, aside from the cheap airfare offered by Norse Atlantic Airways, below are some fun reasons it should be on your must-visit list this year.
Paris is the City of Love
Paris is a walkable city with beautiful cobblestone streets. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes! You can view the Eiffel Tower with your loved ones, whether it be your spouse, children, or in our case, even our parents. The memories you make and photo opportunities are endless.
Paris also has a lot of charming bars and restaurants that provide the perfect setting for romance. In fact, during our last trip to Paris, my husband and I escaped our family for a few hours to explore the city and stumbled across the cutest corner wine where we were able to get some well-needed couple’s time before heading to one of our favorite perfumeries, Serge Lutens. This is the brand that helped pioneer the niche perfume trend.
The Art
Paris is well-known for their art scene. It’s home to the world’s most visited art museum, the Louvre, where the Mona Lisa hangs. It’s also where another one of my favorite Netflix series, Lupin. A French series about a gentleman thief who steals Marie Antoinette’s prized jewels from the Louvre. There is also the Musee d’Orsay, housing impressionist and post-impressionist art from Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh, as well as The Centre Pompidou, Paris Museum of Modern Art and the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin to choose from.
The Food
The French are, of course, famous for their food and beverages. There are always new and unique restaurants popping up, while traditional well-known restaurants have remained for decades. These include Bouillon Chartie, Café de la Paix and Le Train Bleu.
Should you want to experience dinner with a view of the Eiffel Tower, there are a few restaurants to consider. However, keep in mind that restaurant prices will be considerably higher since you’ll be dining in a touristy area. Girage and Les Ombres (rooftop restaurant at the Musée de Quai Branly) provides the very best views of the Eiffel Tower, but make sure you book a reservation in advance. Le New York is a casual option with a terrace that provides tower views. Budget-friendly options would include a picnic or a crêperie kiosk in the Trocadero Gardens. Either way, you can’t go wrong.
It’s Historical Architecture
When we visited Paris for a day, visiting popular Parisian historical sites was a must. The easiest way to see everything using the short amount of time we had was on a Big Bus Tour. It’s a 2 hour and 15-minute hop-on hop-off tour allowing you to see Paris’ most popular historical sites like:
- Eiffel Tower
- Champ de Mars
- Opéra GarnierArc de Triomphe
- Louvre-Pyramide
- Louvre-Pont des Arts
- Notre Dame
- Musée d’Orsay
- Champs-Elysées/ Arc de
- Grand Palais
- Trocadéro (Palais de Chailot and Musee Guimet)
- Palace of Versailles
The River Seine
Hopping on an affordable flight to Paris allows you to experience a nighttime river cruise on the River Seine. It is France’s third-longest river, extending 485 miles from Dijon to the English Channel. The river has been the subject of many famous impressionist paintings, including Monet’s Bathers at La Grenouillere and Renoir’s Seine River at Asnieres.
Fun Fact: The River Seine still supplies about half of the water used in Paris
When is the Best Time to visit Paris?
Finding the perfect time to plan your Paris getaway, whether to experience Emily’s glamourous lifestyle, experience Paris’ history, or follow in the footsteps of Lupin, cheap flights to this city are usually found during late November, early December, January through February, and early March. Choosing to come to Paris during late fall, winter, or early spring is the easiest way to save big on your flight to Paris. February is a great time for a flight to Paris for those who want to experience Parisian winters, the festive holiday markets, and the beginning hints of spring. However, with direct flights from JFK at $159 each way, flying to Paris with Norse Atlantic is the most affordable option at any time. I even foresee an even earlier return in our future.

Hop on the Eurostar for a Quick Trip to London
Once in Paris, you may want to head over to another popular European city, London. It’s just a 2.5-hour ride on the Eurostar from Gare de L’est station. When we were in London, we hopped an early morning Eurostar into Paris-Est.
