Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and your New Year is off to a great start.  I’ve been off of work for over a week, and you’d think that I’d have some time to get more blogging things done than usual, right?  Nope! I just had so much to do around the house, and mini me was sick from Christmas Eve until right before the New Year, and then my husband came down with Tonsillitis.  So yeah… it’s been pretty hectic. Prior to that I did manage to squeeze in some time to make DIY Mason Jar Gifts for my family and close friends.
Mason Jars are the “in” thing right now so it just seemed like the cool thing to do, and DIY gifts come from the heart, which is much more than anything you can find in the store.  Plus, we are on a budget being that we just made two huge purchases this year: our house and a car.  Oh, and lets not forget the roof.

The DIY Mason Jar Gifts I made were DIY Body Scrubs, and Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar.  The recipes for the DIY Body Scrubs can be found on my other blog, Makeup by Kim Porter.  I’m so proud of these because they look professional, and they smell nice, too! The lavender is my favorite aesthetic-wise since in it theres real lavender seeds.  The recipients were pleased, too, which makes me a happy camper.
The DIY Mason Jar Gift: Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar were pretty easy to make.  I believe I knocked out making four jars in 45-minutes to one hour.  All of the dry ingredients, aside from the wet items like butter, vanilla and eggs go inside of jar.  You can create a label that states what it is, and include a recipe card with directions.  People need to know how to cook the cookies, ya know?

Below is the Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
