Having been on a plant-based diet for the last few years, I know how important it is to have anything that will make plant-based eating more convenient, and less costly. Enter the Nutr plant-based milk machine. It’s the small kitchen appliance for plant-based milk drinkers that will actually impress. It offers users the option to make homemade single-serve plant-based milk with ease.
Keep reading to see why the Nutr plant-based milk machine should be at the top of your holiday wish list.
What is Nutr?
Nutr is a small kitchen appliance with a sleek design that allows you to prepare homemade plant-based milk in minutes.
It allows plant-based beverage drinkers to blend things like nuts and grains to achieve smooth, rich, and creamy plant-based milk. In addition to that, you can also use Nutr to make a variety of hot & cold plant-based beverages like creamers, lattes, smoothies, shakes, and more!
The brand is on a mission to not only minimize the negative environmental impact associated with the dairy industry but also to provide a healthier, preservative, and additive-free option for people like me who do our best to eat clean.
What do you get with the Nutr?
The Nutr machine comes with one (1) stainless steel measuring scoop, stainless steel strainer, a power cord, and a recipe book. It offers a single serving to make fresh milk daily.
How Much Does a Nutr Cost?
I received the white Nutr machine, which costs $169; it’s $20 cheaper than the black. In comparison to the cost of buying plant-based milk every week. For reference, my family buys at least three ½ gallon (64 fl. oz) oat milk cartons a week, which costs roughly $5.69 for each carton. One Nutr is the equivalent of nearly 30 cartons of our preferred oat milk brand. Furthermore, the handy gadget reduces waste from single-use cartons.
Nutr Features I Love That You’ll Enjoy
Easy to use
Making your favorite plant-based milk is easy using Nutr. Just pour in your choice of nut & flavoring ingredients, add water, and blend. Because it is such an awesome machine and is different from making plant-based milk in a blender, you don’t need to soak your nuts. You can delay the start for up to 18 hours to pre-soak your nuts for an even creamier result. Just follow these three simple steps below to enjoy a cup of homemade awesome.
Step 1: Add Nuts or grains.
Add one scoop of nuts or grain (oats are the cheapest and easiest to start with), water, and any other additional ingredients like salt, dates, maple syrup, cinnamon, or a touch of oil.
Step 2: Select temperature.
You can choose the temperature of your nut milk (room temperature, warm, or hot).
Step 3: Press start.
The cycle starts once your desired temperature setting is found. The Nutr uses stainless steel blades to grind up your ingredients in under five minutes. Once the cycle is finished, depending on your taste, you can use your freshly made plant-based milk as is, or strain out any pulp with the included strainer.
It’s Mess-free
Nutr provides a mess-free, non-dairy beverage-making experience. There is a self-clean option for a 90-second rinse cycle for easy cleanup.
Three Temperature Options
I love that Nutr allows you to make both iced and warm plant-based beverages. While I mostly drink hot coffee, I use cold oat milk to cool it down. Sometimes if I make a latte, I’ll opt for warm or hot milk. My daughter, on the other hand, uses cold milk to make decaf iced coffee.
The Nutr has a Room Temperature setting for oat and chilled milk, Warm (140°) for warm beverages and creamers, or Hot (212°) for boiling soy and rice milk for safe consumption. The hot setting can take up to 20 minutes. While I don’t drink soy milk, I’ve heard that making soy milk from scratch isn’t easy. Shoot, I’ve complained when I made almond milk from scratch, and all it took was soaking, blending, and straining almonds. I cannot even imagine making soy milk at home.
It’s a Multi-use Kitchen Appliance
Say bye to having multiple kitchen appliances cluttering your countertop. I love that I can use the Nutr as an electric tea kettle, which means I can free up space on my countertop. This leaves more room for food prep. To use the machine as an electric tea kettle, use the Water Boil mode.
You Know What You’re Ingesting
One of the things that I’ve been proactive with is taking control of my health. Because good health starts with a good diet and nutrition. Hence me making eating mostly clean and plant-based part of my lifestyle. While I do buy plant-based milk from the grocery store, I don’t have control over what’s in it, as far as unhealthy preservatives and additives go. However, with Nutr, I am able to choose what goes into the milk I make. Consuming something with familiar ingredients is just one of those nice-to-know things for a high-strung Virgo like me.

Choose the Sustainable Option
Nutr partners with One Tree Planted, a program that plants a tree for each Nutr Machine sold. When you purchase and use a Nutr, you can be confident that you are reducing waste by not using milk cartons. Instead, you’re using reusable containers to store your homemade plant-based milk. Additionally, dairy production results in increased emissions, which are harmful to the environment. As a Nutr owner, you can be proud that you’re not contributing to increased emissions.
Who is the Nutr Plant-based Milk Machine for
Someone who loves plant-based milk, and wants to experiment with making their own milk will enjoy the Nutr. They’ll enjoy being able to customize the plant-based milk to their needs, whether they need creamier milk for making coffee or something lighter for cereals or smoothies. While Nutr is a single-serve plant-based milk maker that only takes about 5 minutes to make one cup, people with larger families may not find this sustainable for making larger portions of milk. Perhaps this is useful for families whose plant-based milk needs and preferences span across the various nut and grain variations to accommodate food allergies and such. Nutr would also make a great gift for someone who likes to be in control… of what they ingest whether that means making sugar or salt-free milk or adding their own sweeteners such as dates, maple syrup, honey, or agave.
