If you love the beach, then you’ll want to keep reading to see the best places I recommend traveling to. Between the sand, sun, and ocean, you can’t go wrong with relaxing and take a break from it all at one of these beaches. Having visited several of these places, I for one can tell you that they’re totally worth every penny, and then some.

Best Places to Travel If You Love the Beach

Conception Moon Walk on Beach
Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos

Grace Bay Beach

This beach is raved as one of the best beaches in the world, the water, and its colors are amazing. Depending on the lighting, you’ll notice different hues. The sand is white and soft and the beach is never crowded. If you’d like to have a go at snorkeling, this spot is perfect for beginners. Not to mention, at low tide, the water is only waist-high. Our experience was amazing, thanks to the friendliness and generous hospitality of the staff. Looking for things to do? Here are a few ideas of things to add to your to-do list:

  • half-day snorkeling excursion
  • half-day cruise and beach picnic
  • parasailing
  • island tour

St. John Beaches

There are many St. John beaches; however, there are a few that always make it to the top of the must-see and experience list. I’ll list those in a moment, but first I’d like to tell you what they all have in common. For starters, these beaches are known for having beautiful white sand, crystal-clear and aqua-blue waters, and coconut palms that line the beach. Another perk is there are no passport requirements for U.S. citizens. They have shallow water for snorkeling and just so happened to be protected by the Virgin Islands National Park.

Below are the top St. John beaches to consider visiting:

  • Trunk Bay Beach
  • Cinnamon Bay Beach
  • Maho Bay Beach
  • Hawksnest Beach
  • Salomon Beach
  • Gibney Beach
  • Caneel Bay
  • Honeymoon Beach

Family beach vacation in Freeport, Bahamas

Bahamas

The Bahamas is one of the best vacation destinations in the world, and rightfully so. It’s beautiful, the weather is amazing, and there are hundreds of islands (making it a special archipelago). You’re probably familiar with a few things you can do, such as snorkeling and cruising, but there is so much more to experience when visiting this magical place.

You can take a swim with the pigs at Big Major Cay, go sport fishing, visit pirate forts, and more. And if you’ve ever thought that cave diving couldn’t be experienced, wrong. The Bahamas is actually recognized as one of the best places to take a dive down under. While you’re there, don’t forget to taste some local, homemade jams/jellies, purchase some straw goods, and experience junkanoo art.

West End Cliffs (Jamaica)

Known for giving visitors an adrenaline rush through cliff jumping, West End Cliffs has a number of other things you can do along its four-mile-long beach stretch. You can enjoy a variety of water sports such as jet skiing, kayaking, and sailing. And if adventure thrills are your thing, then you may want to visit the trapeze nets. Although the best time to visit is between November and December, you can always travel during peak season between May and June. Prices tend to increase, but it’s still worth it.

Discovering an old pirate town, filling your belly with authentic Jamaican food, and listening to live reggae music are just a few other things to indulge in while visiting this beautiful place.

Cape Town (South Africa)

This is one of the only areas where you can cross the span of three oceans in just a couple of hours. To do this, visit Three Anchor Bay and take a paddling adventure on a sea kayak. If you really seek a thrill, have a go at cage diving with great white sharks. However, if you want to play it “safe,” then you may want to settle for exploring the local landscapes instead. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a visit to Cape Town. It will be a trip to remember.
