Winter break is just a few days away! The kids will be out of school for one week. One whole week! What will they do? Well, Liberty Science Center has some new fun exhibits for kids of all ages and some parents will enjoy too. It is actually one of our favorite places to visit as a family because there is so much to do and see. It is the perfect place to take kids for a day of winter family fun and learning through play.

Liberty Science Center Planetarium

Just last weekend, thanks to Momtrends, my daughter and her friend were able to experience the new Disney Doc McStuffins The Exhibit and The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, as well as see a very special show starring some of our Sesame Street friends at the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium.

Disney Doc McStuffins The Exhibit

When my daughter was younger, she loved, I mean loved Doc McStuffins. She had the doctor set, watched the show, and more. Even though at 7-years-old, she is passed the age bracket for the Doc, she enjoyed playing in Disney’s Doc McStuffins: The Exhibit.

The exhibit features a nursery, pet vet, emergency room, and more! Everything to make a Doc McStuffins-loving kid.

Through imaginative play and hands-on activities, kids will learn important life lessons about health and wellness. There is so much you can do to take care of you!

The Doc McStuffins Exhibit is open until January 27, 2019.

The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes

Listen, anything that has to do with mysteries, murder, and solving a crime, I am all for. I loved The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes.

The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes

This exhibit allowed me to walk in the shoes of a forensic scientist. I enjoyed being able to experiment with various blood splatter patterns. Have you seen skin with stab wounds? If not, you can at Liberty Science Center. I learned so much there from this one exhibit alone including the various plants that can be used or have been used as a poison.

I will admit that The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes is a bit mature, for little kids; however, I do believe teenagers and adults would enjoy it the most.

The exhibit will be open through May 27, 2019.

The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium – the Biggest in the Western Hemisphere

If there is one thing that keeps drawing our family back to Liberty Science Center, it would have to be the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium. Aside from being the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, they offer amazing shows that make learning about the solar system fun and exciting.

During our visit to Liberty Science Center for the Momtrends Winter Fun event, we had the option of seeing any of the following three shows:

One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure – Kids will be able to explore the night sky with their favorite Sesame Street friends like Big Bird and Elmo. They even get to learn a bit of Chinese from Elmo’s Chinese friend, Hu Hu Zhu.

One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure

Laser Wonderland – Watch laser images set to winter and holiday-themed songs. The kid’s favorites were seeing The Grinch and singing along to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.

Black Holes – Learn about Black Holes, while Liam Nielson narrates as you travel inside a black hole at the center of the Milky Way, learning about Scientists search for these phenomena and how they are formed.

The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium offers an experience like no other. You feel as though you are flying through the solar system. The stars and planets are within reach. It’s truly amazing! If all that is done during a visit to Liberty Science Center is see a show at the planetarium, your family would be satisfied.

Planetarium shows are available with the purchase of a Combination Pass or a Premium Pass.
