We are heading to Texas, and for a good reason, too. Lately, we have been on a path to leading a healthier lifestyle, hence us doing JJ Smith’s (no relation) Green Smoothie Cleanse several times over. You’re probably wondering, “What is in Texas that has to do with a healthy lifestyle?” We were invited to spend a few days at Deer Lake Lodge Resort and Health Spa located in Montgomery, Texas.
The Deer Lake Lodge Resort and Health Spa (reviews) is a 50 acre private retreat nestled in the woods, which makes for the perfect setting for those looking to disconnect, relax and kick start a journey to healthier living. All of those things are what the husband and I want to achieve, hence our acceptance of the visit.
Both of us work full-time, and my husband has crazy work hours, and me with my blog(s) and social media, I am never off. Fellow bloggers can understand the latter. Oh, and let’s throw in our kindergartener who is involved in extracurricular activities such as dance and swimming. As you can imagine, we need a break. “But Kim, didn’t you just come back from vacation?” Correct, but anyone with kids knows that a vacation with children is no vacation at all so off to Texas we go to relax, release, and rejuvenate for four (4) days and three (3) nights Deer Lake Lodge Resort and Health Spa.
Deer Lake Lodge Resort and Health Spa booked us for a stay in one of their suites, which features two full-sized beds that overlook the pool. We will do our best to take advantage of the pool since we will be in 80 degree weather and since we didn’t get to while in California. The room also has a flat screen television and wireless internet that I doubt we will use since we are trying to disconnect for a bit. Besides, four days without television or the internet can’t be that bad. Wait, I need the internet so that you can keep up with our experience on social media. The suite also has a fireplace; how romantic!
The suites (and cabins) come standard with luxurious organic linens, pillows, robes and slippers. All mattresses are made of natural materials. All cleaning products and pest control are also organic. Deer Lake Lodge Resort and Health Spa is practically an organic-lovers heaven.
During our four-day stay, we will try our best to take advantage of the many amenities offered at Deer Lake Lodge, especially the yoga, saltwater pool and jetted spa.
