My last ‘Making baby #2’ post (read here if you missed it) introduced Femara aka
Letrozole.  I wonder how many people
googled it and found that it was a drug used for women with breast cancer?  Femara is a breast cancer drug, and after
some research, it showed women were still ovulating going through breast cancer
treatments while on Femara.  And then
reproductive specialists began using it to help women get pregnant.
I was taking 2.5mg of Femara one time a day for 5 days
(CD3-CD7).  On CD10 I had my scan or
ultrasound or sonogram (choose to call it what you prefer), and it showed that
I had not one, not two, but three
follicles; however, only one was mature.
My RE was happy with the results the small dosage of Femara
brought.  I’m just happy I had one mature egg and not all three or even
two.  Oh, and I didn’t have to do a trigger shot. Then after that, I had to wait to
Wondfo LH Testing Strips

This time around I temped and used OPKs I picked up from Amazon.  The OPKs suggested I ovulated on CD12, and my
temps showed I O’d on CD14. Supposedly, temps are a more accurate way of
knowing when you’ve O’d, but, unfortunately it isn’t helpful until after you’ve
already O’d.  I did ovulate though, and
it probably happened between CD12 –CD14, and my progesterone check on CD19
confirmed ovulation.
Am I Pregnant or not pregnant?  That is the question.  My guess is I am not.  We shall see.  I am not testing.  I will leave that up to the doctor.  If I am not, there’s always next cycle, and
the one after that.  I just want to get it over with before I am too old. Well, what I personally consider too old to pop out babies.

Other than that, I am doing well.  Plus, I will soon have some great non-baby related news to
share, so stay tuned!
